We allow dogs in our rustic and loft cabins ONLY. Our geodesic domes cannot accommodate pets at this time. 

There is guest parking as soon as you enter retreat and campgrounds. Once you park please give us a call to let us know you have arrived and we will help move your items to your accommodations. We kindly ask guests not to drive to the accommodations directly. 

Sheets, pillows, duvets/comforters and a throw blanket are provided in all our accommodations. 

The domes come with towels.

Yes! All our accommodations have potable water in water jugs or water coolers.

There are outdoor washroom facilities at various locations around the property including a comfort station with full shower and running hot water. Our forest dome comes equipped with a full bathroom with rain shower. 

Big Rock Eco Retreat is located on Weslemkoon Lake, Ontario with a marina at the waterfront. This is also where our guests can access the complementary canoes and kayaks and boat rentals. The waterfront is a short 2-10 mins walk from the various accommodations. 

Outside wood is not permitted at the retreat or campgrounds. Transported wood from other locations can spread disease. We supply firewood and some is available for additional purchase.

There are Keurig coffee makers in our cabins and domes. We supply 2-4 pods. Please bring your own if you require more or you can purchase some if additional pods are required. 

Yes propane is provided for the outdoor BBQs.

We have bags of ice available for sale.

Weslemkoon Lake Marina is just a short 15 mins walk from Big Rock Eco Retreat and carries many essential items including BBQ meats, eggs, milik, canned goods, chips, Kawartha Dairy ice cream, and other camping supplies.

The Rustic Roadhouse Restaurant is located just at the end of Weslemkoon Lake Rd about a 30 mins drive from the retreat. They provide baked goods, family dining and a variety of delicious food on the menu. We can also provide catering to your dome or cabin if you wish to order takeout. 

We are also excited to provide custom culinary delights such as breakfast boxes, smores kits, movie night kits, and charcuterie boards for your munching pleasure. 

There are no microwaves in the cabins and domes. They do have toaster ovens, coffee makers and outdoor BBQs with side burners. 

Our retreat offers a variety of accommodations from tenting, to camping to glamping. There is a campground on the property as well as multiple units in the meadow and forest. We ask guests respect one another and keep music and conversations to a minimum by 11:00pm. 

The waterfront is approximately 2 mins – 10 mins walk depending on the accommodation. There is no swimming off the docks and guests are asked to only use the dock area if canoes or kayaks are being used or participating in a pontoon tour. 

If you wish to go swimming please contact the hosts to arrange an island drop off or you can take a canoe or kayak to a local island. Please connect with the host PRIOR to using the canoes and kayaks. 

We also provide boat rentals (with a boaters license) if you wish to go fishing or take a ride on the lake. A fishing license is required.

Guests wish to go swimming we offer the option of a pontoon ride for a fee to drop off at a local island for a day in the sun and water. Or you can take a canoe or kayak trip to a local island. There is also a public beach approximately 45 mins away if you wish to get the sand between your toes

We are happy to provide our guests with complementary canoes and kayaks (depending on availability).
